As a wedding photographer in the Bay Area, it’s not uncommon for me to travel as far as Healdsburg or Monterey for a gig. But it’s great when I get to shoot a wedding right here in my own home town of Oakland. Tiffany and Kally were married at Joaquin Miller Park, which is so close to my house that I could’ve practically walked to their wedding. It’s also one of my favorite spots in Oakland, and a gorgeous wedding venue with great views of the bay, cascading waterfalls, and beautiful nature trails.
I loved everything about this wedding, from the funny yet moving ceremony (officiated by a close friend) to the low-key afternoon reception in the park. The whole day had a very relaxed, casual vibe that made this wedding a joy to shoot.
